Isabella
At the base of the Koi Pond is a tall, slender woman with long, flowing hair—poised to dive into the pond with a dolphin at her side. Her official name is “Dance with Dolphin” but we have nicknamed her “Isabella”. Her beauty has been known to bring a tear to many an eye. She was carved from a ten-foot piece of spruce by Russian sculptor, Alexandre Safonov.
Trained in Europe and renowned in his native Russia, Safonov is truly an artist whose creations transcend time and genre. A master sculptor, he is best known for his work in bronze and wood carvings. In Safonov’s skilled hands, the beauty and forms found in nature emerge.
From limited edition masterpieces to commissioned one-of-a-kind sculptures, Safonov’s work has been displayed throughout the world. His range is extraordinary. His work can be found in corporate settings, humble gardens, and in the world’s most prestigious private collections, like that of Microsoft founder Bill Gates.
